William Allen “Bill” Miller, Sr. age 93 of Fisher, WV departed this life on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Nella’s at Autumn Lake Healthcare in Elkins, WV.
Bill was born on April 24, 1932 in Marlowe, WV and was a son of the late Kenneth Allen Miller and Susie Virginia (Reid) Miller. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Anna Catherine (Crites) Miller in 2008; two daughters-in-law, Rosie Marie Miller and Virginia Elizabeth Miller; two sisters, Virginia Judy and Eleanor Leingang and two brothers, Paul F. Miller and Kenneth A. Miller.
Bill is survived by one daughter, Barbara Ann Goldizen (John) of Conway, SC; two sons, William Allen “Billy” Miller, Jr. of Lahmansville, WV and Robert F. Miller of Fisher, WV; one sister, Mary Hite of Falling Waters, WV; two grandsons, Chris (Christy) Goldizen of Maxwelton, WV and Terry (Sammi) Miller of Moorefield, WV; several great-grandchildren and a number of step great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Bill proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post 9606, Moorefield, WV. He enjoyed talking about his time in the United States Army and serving his country. He was a carpenter and farmer. He also worked at Rockingham Plant in Moorefield.
Bill was blessed to have Rose Miller and Select In Home services in Petersburg during his last years. Bill’s family appreciated the care that was given.
Bill’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 12 noon till 2 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Bill’s son, Pastor William A. “Billy” Miller, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Lahmansville Cemetery with Military Honors by the Moorefield Veterans Honor Guard and United States Army Honor Guard.
