William R. Tingler, Sr.

William Robert “Bob” Tingler, Sr. age 83 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. 

Bob was born on June 6, 1940 in Danville, Md and was a son of the late Hobert Russell Tingler and Mildred Carrie (Kline) Tingler Alt. 

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by four brothers Roy Tingler, Charles “Chuck” Tingler, Louis “Lou” Tingler and infant Hubert Tingler.

Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda L.  (Cushard) Tingler

     One daughter, Monalisa Lease (Tommy) of Keyser, WV

      Three sons: William R. “Robbie” Tingler Jr. (Keshia) of Maysville, WV    

                          Jim Mallow of Elkins, WV

                          Allen Mallow of Elkins, WV

      Nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren

      Three brothers: Ray Tingler of Cabins, WV

                               Thomas Tingler of Onego, WV

                                Howard Tingler of Broken Arrow, OK

       Four sisters:  Shirley Evans of Elkins, WV

                              Carolyn Fulkerson of Purgitsville, WV

                              Linda Tingler of Purgitsville, WV

                              Peggy Shoemaker of Purgitsville, WV

Numerous nieces and nephews and three special friends, Donnie Chewethe, Kenny Swick and Tom McCorke.

Bob worked in construction all his life and was currently working as a heavy equipment operator for Sites Excavating.  His passion was antique cars and going to car shows and bear hunting. 

Funeral service will be Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 1 PM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Baer, Jr. officiating.  

Bob’s family will receive friends from 11 AM till time of service.

Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery.
