Wanda G. (Watts) Barkley

Wanda Gay (Watts) Barkley, age 82, of Seneca Rocks, WV passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at her home.

Wanda was born on February 26, 1939 in Petersburg, WV and was a daughter of the late Lee Fredrick Watts and Sally Gail (Ours) Watts. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by two brothers, Marlin L. Watts and infant Frederick Mark Watts.

Wanda is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bobby Gene Barkley

Four daughters:   

Pamela Kay (Keith) Jones of Charleston, WV                   

Tonya Jo (Tracy) Smith of Seneca Rocks, WV                               

 Rena Jean (Wayne) Vance of Seneca Rocks, WV             

Deanna Gay (Greg) Wolford of Seneca Rocks, WV

Five grandchildren, Shane Loren Smith, Natasha Jo Bowers, Brittany Jean Anderson, Danielle Shay Squires and Ally Makenna Vance; three great grandchildren, Laney Jo Bowers, Landon Spencer Bowers and Ridge Michael Anderson; two sisters, Twila (Eugene) Kessel of Maysville, WV and Lucille (Rick) Ritter of Winchester, VA; three brothers, Rev. Delton (Marilyn) Watts of Springfield, MO, Donald (Ruthie) Watts of Cabins, WV and Rev. Vivan (Linda) Watts of New Creek, WV; sister-in-law, Joann Watts of Seneca Rocks, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Wanda was a graduate of Petersburg High School Class of 1957.  She worked in the Grant County Clerk's Office in the early 60’s and was a waitress at the former Hedrick’s 4-U Restaurant and Harper’s Front Porch Restaurant. Wanda was a faithful member of Cabins Assembly of God Church. Wanda was a loving and cheerful person who loved people. She was known for her witty personality.   

Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 26, 2021 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. 

Funeral and burial will be private.
