Thelma Rohrbaugh Obituary

   Thelma (Champ) Rohrbaugh, age 97, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg. 

    She was born June 26, 1923 in Seneca Rocks, WV and was a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Champ and Ethel Edna (Alt) Champ. 

    In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her three husbands, Charles Vance, George F. Butcher and Guy Rohrbaugh; one son, Charles Lloyd Vance; one step- son, Randy Rohrbaugh and eight brothers and six sisters.

    Thelma is survived by one daughter, Melody (Randy)  Nesselrodt of Petersburg, WV; one daughter-in-law, Polly Kimble Vance of Newton Falls, Ohio; five grandchildren, Dena (Darrell) Clonch, of Newton Falls, Ohio, Denise Vance of Lake Milton, Ohio, Charles Vance II of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Roxanna (Jim) Gay of Flushing, Michigan and Derek ((Carrie) Nesselrodt of Petersburg, WV; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; one brother, Dayton (Josie)  Champ of Lahmansville, WV, two step sons of Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. 

     Thelma was a member of the First Baptist Church in Petersburg.  She worked for Joan Curtis Sewing Factory for 20 years.  She received her GED at age 50.  She was known for her excellent cooking and wanting to feed everyone.  She loved to serve others and took excellent care of her brother and sister in nursing home. 

    Funeral service will be Sunday 2:00 PM, July 26, 2020 at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg with Pastor Alan Brumbaugh and Rev. Harold Cullers officiating.  Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery. 

   Family will receive friends from 12 Noon on Sunday till time of service.

   Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, all individuals entering the funeral home will be required to maintain social distance and wear face coverings at all times.                    

  Memorial contributions may be made to Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center, 127 Early Avenue, Petersburg, WV  26847.
