Terrie Lee Foley, age 62, of Petersburg, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023, in her home.
Terrie was born July 1, 1960, in Petersburg, West Virginia and was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Faye (Harman) Wilkinson, three years to the day, on February 11, 2020. In addition to her mother, Terrie was preceded in death by her uncle, Dr. Kenneth M. Harman.
She is survived by her father, William Owen Hedrick and wife Marlene, of Romney, WV, and stepfather, Roger Wilkinson, of Petersburg, WV.
Terrie is survived by her husband of twenty-six years, Gregory W. Foley, three daughters, Amber (Michael) Arbogast of Maysville, WV, Jaimah Swick of Petersburg, WV, Michaela (Josh) Stickley, of Petersburg, WV, one son, Dr. Jordan Musser and partner Joe Andria of Morgantown, WV, two step-sons, Gregory (Erica) W. Foley II, of Kingwood, WV, Morgan (Liz) Foley of Morgantown, WV, and one sister, Lisa Wilson of Clear Springs, MD and her sons, Eli and Chris.
Terrie is also survived by ten grandchildren, who adored her and lovingly referred to her as Nanny and Nanna Terrie – Riley, Audrey, Carter, Ruby, Nora, Charlotte, Noah, Wyatt, Drew, and Madison. Terrie’s family was so proud to call themselves hers because she was a loving and selfless wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.
Terrie was a 1978 graduate of Petersburg High School where she loved participating in the band. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Shepherd University and her master’s degree from WVU. She was a teacher at Petersburg Elementary for 13 years and she touched the lives of hundreds of students with her love, care, and dedication. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church where she participated as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher, and was a member of the American Baptist Women and praise team.
Terrie had a special heart for those that needed it most. She loved her family and had a deep love for her many pets, including cats, dogs, and goats. Despite her illnesses, Terrie was a fighter and she fought fiercely until Jesus took her home.
Terrie decided to continue helping others by donating her body to the WVU Registry.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 10-11 AM on Saturday, February 18th, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Petersburg WV. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00, with Pastors Rick Bergdoll, Shannon Earle, and Frank Ketterman officiating.
