Sweetie (Miller) Vance, age 85 of Seneca Rocks, WV passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at her home.
Sweetie was born on November 30, 1938 in Seneca Rocks, WV and was a daughter of the late Denton Miller and Chloe (Lough) Miller. In addition to her parents, Sweetie was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon J. Vance in 1997; four brothers, Johnie D. Miller, Gene Miller, Dewey S. Miller and Roosevelt Miller; four sisters, Mae Sites, Joy Rao, Pauline Phares and infant Joann Miller; three brothers-in-law, her daughter’s Fiance, John W. Cefaloni and Sweetie’s special friend, John R. Adamson.
Sweetie is survived by her daughter, Beverly S. Vance of Seneca Rocks, WV, two sisters, Velma Bland of Seneca Rocks, WV and Josie Champ and husband Dayton of Lahmansville, WV; two brothers, Truman Miller and wife, Connie and Worth Miller and wife, Patty of Cabins, WV; brother-in-law, Earl Sites, numerous nieces and nephews, and her three furry animals.
Sweetie attended the Miller school and was a member of the Onego Church of the Brethren. Sweetie and her husband moved to Maryland and lived there for over 40 years. She was a Christian by Faith and taught Sunday School and was a Vacation Bible School teacher. Sweetie was a homemaker and was known for her delicious cooking and baking. Sweetie will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral service will be Friday, June 21, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Charles “Dusty” Twigg and Pastor Greg Adamson officiating.
Sweetie’s family will receive family and friends from 11 a.m. till time of service at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in the Vance Family Cemetery on Roaring Creek Road, Seneca Rocks, WV.
Memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Vance Family Cemetery.
