Sue Carr Obituary
Carol Sue Carr, age 77, of Petersburg, WV passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV.
Sue was born on February 17, 1945 in Keyser, WV and was a daughter of the late Glenn Ira Carr and Edna Florence (Burns) Carr.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Carr and Ronald P. Carr, Sr.; one sister, Shirley Landis; brother-in-law, Boyd Landis; sister-in-law, Wanda Carr; great niece, Laura Litten.
Sue is survived by her sister, Glenna (Paul) Walters of Martinsburg, WV; sister-in-law, Frances Carr of Keyser, WV; four nephews, Sam Walters, Boyd Landis, Jr, Ronnie Carr, Jr, and William Carr; six nieces, Dawn Walters, Rhonda Swanson, Pam Umstot, Sharon Engle, Brenda Morriss and Barbara Litten; numerous great nieces and nephews and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her furry friend Lucky.
Sue was a graduate of Petersburg High School class of 1963. She worked for the Petersburg Garment Factories for several years and later at the Grant County Nursing Home until retirement.
Sue was a faithful member and deaconess of the Petersburg First Baptist Church. She served on the flower committee, was custodian and a member of the American Baptist Women. She enjoyed the family reunions and the Maple Fest at the Laurel Dale Methodist Church. When each child in her family was school age, Sue provided them with school supplies.
Sue's family give their heartfelt thanks to the Petersburg First Baptist Church, Greg and Terrie Foley and Safe Harbor Palliative Care of Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Funeral service will be 11 AM Thursday, April 14, 2022 in the chapel of the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Shannon Earle officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens in Keyser, WV.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family, c/o Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.
