Shirley A. Davis-Matthews

 Shirley Ann (Davis) Matthews, age 86 of Scherr, WV, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Keyser Healthcare Center in Keyser, WV.

Shirley was born on September 21, 1939 in Scherr, WV and was a daughter of the late Fred Wesley Davis and Lula Bessie (Rohrbaugh) Davis. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Robert "Bob" Davis. and a special cousin, Roger L. Cullers. Shirley was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Shirley is survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia Davis, a niece and nephew, Tammy Cullers and Robert "Bobby" Davis and several cousins.

Shirley was a 1958 graduate of Petersburg High School and retired from Geico Insurance.

Funeral service will be Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg with Pastor P. J. Landis officiating.  

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be private in the Maysville Cemetery.
