Shirley M. (Miller) Baker

Shirley Marie (Miller) Baker, age 81, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Mrs. Baker was born August 23, 1939 in Petersburg, WV and was a daughter of the late Conrad Miller and Stella Marie (Lewis) Miller.  In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Miller, Floyd Miller and infant James Miller.

Shirley was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 63 years, J. Frank Baker, one son, Dwight R. (Lori) Baker of Petersburg, WV; two grandchildren, Jessica Baker Simmons and husband, Patrick of Petersburg, WV and Kristina Angeline and husband Adam of Fairmont, WV; two great grandchildren, Hudson Angeline and Mason Simmons; and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley was a graduate of Petersburg High School Class of 1957.  Shirley and her husband owned and operated Baker’s Sports Center, Shirley’s Crafts and B & B Furnaces for several years.  A lifelong member of Petersburg First Baptist Church and served as Sunday School Secretary and was treasurer of American Baptist Women A.B.W.

A graveside service will be Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 2 PM with Pastor Rick Bergdoll officiating in Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, WV.
