Selena E. Redman

Selena Elizabeth Redman, age 73, of Petersburg, WV departed this life on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at her home.
She born August 3, 1941 in Grant County and was a daughter of the late Harry Lissle Redman and Flora Elizabeth Beckwith Redman.
Selena was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James O. Redman in 1998; one brother, Dana Redman and one sister, Shirley Redman.
Selena worked for the Community Action Agency from 1968-1979.
She organized the Head Start and Nutrition Programs which still remain today as her favorite programs. Although there were other programs that she worked with and enjoyed over the years. She also held a job at Walmart in Moorefield, WV with her last place of employment being at the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg.
She was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Selena is survived by her three sons, James M. Redman, Timothy R. Redman, Sidney D. Redman and three grandchildren, Jaymi Leigh Redman, Tylor James Redman and Laila Grace Redman; two step daughters, Barbara Smith and Gwendolyn Redman both of Keyser, WV; one sister, Sharon Redman of Petersburg, WV and two brothers, Keith Redman and wife Mary of Moorefield, WV and Roger Redman and wife Margaret of Moorefield, WV and several Nieces and Nephews. Selena also had two special ladies that called her Mom, Melba Redman Thorne of Martiansburg, WV and Karen Redman of Waynesboro, VA.
Family will receive friends Saturday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Calvin S. Redman Sr. and Pastor Ronald Boyd officiating. Interment will be in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg, WV.
