Ronnie A. Holmes

Ronnie Allen Holmes, age 80 of Petersburg, WV died Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at his residence in Petersburg, WV. 

Ronnie was born on March 5, 1941, in Charleston, West Virginia and was the son of the late Lawrence Earl Holmes and Anna LaVer (Pauline) Holmes.  In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by one sister, Marsha McDaniel and a special Aunt Celia.

Ronnie is survived by two sons, Brett Thompson of Ripley, WV and Brian Holmes of Vista, CA; one daughter, Devonna Shaffer of Springfield, Ohio; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and his faithful furry friend, Molly. 

Ronnie served in the United States Army. He was a Department of Motor Vehicles Inspector in West Virginia and owned Potomac Motors in Moorefield, WV.  He loved flying planes and driving fast cars.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Petersburg and was an Ordinance worker in Washington, DC Temple.

Funeral service will be Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 11 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Petersburg with Bishop Richard Whetzel and Elder Steve Kimble officiating.   Family will receive friends one hour prior to services at 11AM.

Potomac Highlands VFW Post 6454 will conduct military honors at the church following the funeral service

Interment will be on Monday, July 26, 2021, at 1:00 PM in Sunset Memorial Park, 4301 MacCorkle Avenue SW, Charleston, WV 25309
