Roger J. Kessel

Roger James Kessel, age 80, of Trough Road, Moorefield, WV passed away Friday, June 17, 2022 at his home.

Roger was born on February 7, 1942 in Harrisonburg, VA and was a son of the late James A. Kessel and Mildred (Parker) Kessel. 

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by one sister, Edna Kessel Poling. 

Roger is survived by his wife Bonnie K. (Rexroad) Kessel; two daughters, Ronda Polvi of Warrenton, VA and Millie Waddell of Martinsburg, WV; one son, Brian Lee Kessel of Australia; one stepson, Rodney (Lori) Riggleman of Fisher, WV; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Rexroad of Arthur, WV and Gerald Rexroad of Harpers Ferry, WV; several nieces and nephews.

Roger was a graduate of Moorefield High School class of 1960.  He was a lifelong farmer.  Roger was a member of the White Pine Church of the Brethren and attended Victory Believer’s Center.  He also was a member of the Mill Creek Ruritan Club, Purgitsville, WV.  He enjoyed watching the Mountaineer sports.       

A Celebration of Life service will be Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the Believer's Victory Center in Moorefield, WV.
