Roger L. Cullers

 Roger Lee Cullers, age 82, of Scherr, WV passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at J.W. Ruby Medical Center in Morgantown, WV.

Roger was born on March 3, 1943 in Bayard, WV and was a son of the late Melvin Gorman Cullers and Edna Violet (Davis) Cullers. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Callis, Bonnie Harsh, Marion Moreland and two brothers, Billy Cullers and Melvin Cullers.

Roger is survived by three sisters, Betty L. (Dayton) Bolyard of Eglon, WV, Janet (Harvey) Barr of Petersburg, WV and Rebecca (Gerald) Waldron of Maysville, WV; one brother, Harry R. (Marcia) Cullers of Reading, MA, brother-in-law, Robert Harsh of Aurora, WV and several nieces, nephews and special cousin, Shirley Matthews.

Roger was a 1962 graduate of Southern High School in Oakland, MD and later served in the United States Navy. He was a member of Steamfitters Local Union #602 in Capitol Heights, MD for 56 years. Roger was known to be a “helping hand” whenever needed. He attended Cornerstone Family Fellowship in Petersburg, WV.

Roger’s family will receive friends on Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 12 Noon till  2 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.

 A funeral service will begin at 2 PM with Pastor P.J. Landis officiating and interment will be in Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, West Virginia with Military Honors by the Grant County Veterans Honor Guard.
