Roger W. Conrad

Roger Wayne Conrad, age 79 of Petersburg, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Roger was born on November 23,1944 in Petersburg, WV and was a son of the late Lester C. Conrad and Mary (Wratchford) Conrad Cutchens. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded by his stepfather, Carlos B. Cutchens and grandson, Scott Steven Zirk II.

Roger is survived by his wife of 29 years, Abigail (VanMeter) Conrad, one son, Rocky Wayne Conrad of Petersburg, WV; three daughters, Tammy C. Conrad,  Samantha G. Wright and Mary M. Conrad all of Petersburg, WV; five grandchildren Seth Thurman Conrad, Rocky Wayne Conrad, Jr. and husband Simon Conrad, Brandi VanMeter, Sierrah Zirk, Sydnee Zirk and Emma Conrad; two great grandchildren, Alexa Conrad and Orion Conrad; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Jacob Wratchford.

Roger was a graduate of Petersburg High School. He was an orderly at Grant Memorial Hospital and operated Pair-A Dice in Petersburg.

He retired from Adell Polymers in Petersburg and was maintenance guy for Duke and Linda McDaniel. Roger coached several years in Grant County Little League and Senior League Baseball. Roger was a member of the Brake Covenant Brethren Church. 

Roger’s family will receive family and friends on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 5:00 –7:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. 

Funeral service will follow at 7 PM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Howard and Pastor Brad Taylor officiating.
