Riley Goldizen, age 86 of Cabins, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at his home.
Riley was born on July 30, 1935 in Cabins, WV and was a son of the late Andy Goldizen and Jennie (Ours) Goldizen.
In addition to his parents, Riley was preceded in death by his wife Naomi Ruth (Hedrick) Phares Goldizen; two brothers, Paul Goldizen and Andrew Goldizen; two sisters, Pauline Ours and Carolina Carr.
Riley is survived by one sister, Cora Hinkle of Bridgewater, VA; one brother, John (Josie) Goldizen of Cabins, WV; sister-in-law, Gloria Goldizen of Cabins, WV, several nieces and nephews who will cherish the memories of Uncle Riley. Also surviving his late wife’s children.
Riley was a lifelong farmer and mechanic for the West Virginia Department of Highways.
He was Methodist by Faith and a member of West Virginia Farm Bureau. Riley was a generous man, always willing to help family and friends. Riley enjoyed gardening and sharing his tomatoes.
Family will receive friends Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service will be Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 2 PM in the chapel of the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Goldizen officiating. Interment will be in the Ours-Goldizen Cemetery, Cabins, WV.
