Raymond F. Keplinger

 Raymond Forest Keplinger, age 73 of Moorefield, WV died on Saturday, January 11, 2025 as a result of a Motor Vehicle Accident. Raymond was born on December 8, 1951 in Petersburg and was a son of the late Virgil Ray Keplinger and Alice Louvine (Lilly) Keplinger. 

 In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his sister, Doris (Keplinger) George and his niece, Dreama Keplinger and his great niece, Jurnee Cullers.

  Raymond is survived by his wife of 52 years, Effie (Wolfe) Keplinger; his son, Gaylord Ray Keplinger (Ariel) of LaFayette, LA; his daughter, Ashley Burgos (Diomar) of Frederick, MD; two beautiful granddaughters, Jasleen and Kylah Burgos; one sister, Naomi Keplinger of Spring Lake, NC and several nieces and nephews and his two cats, Leah and Katniss. 

 Raymond was a 1969 graduate of Moorefield High School. He worked at Pilgrim's Pride and later retired from American Woodmark Corp. in Moorefield, WV. He coached little league baseball for many years and was always interested in the players' lives as they became adults.  He delighted in taking the granddaughters fishing.  He was an avid hunter until his health declined.  He still liked to slowly ride the roads looking for wildlife, which was what he was doing at the time of his accident.  He never met a stranger.  He was always giving people food or random items that he thought they needed.  He loved to give $5.00 to every kid he met (with parents' permission). He liked to spend time at his river lot and at Bob Moran’s Shop talking to all the guys.  His retirement was filled with slowly riding around talking to people, filling potholes, weed eating and going to the flea market beside Burger King. 

 A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at the Bingo Hall on Jefferson Street in Moorefield, WV.
