R. Carl Mullenax

Roland Carl Mullenax, age 91 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center.

Carl was born on October 29, 1934 in Pansy, WV and was a son of the late Roland C. Mullenax, and Bessie C. (Harman) Mullenax.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Mullenax and Mark Mullenax; two brothers, Bruce Mullenax and Ernest Mullenax.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Thelma (Kimble) Mullenax; two sons, Kelly Mullenax (Jeanne) of Petersburg, WV and Kenneth Mullenax of Petersburg, WV; one daughter, Melanie Mullenax Diller of Harrisburg, PA; Six granddaughters, Kari Armentrout,  Karla Lanman, Kim Spears, Kelli Riggleman, Whitney Kimble and Sarah Mullenax; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; One sister, Jean Judy of Franklin, WV and one brother, Roy Mullenax of Petersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Carl was a 1953 graduate of Petersburg High School.  He was a truck driver for 35 years; 10 years with V.R. Mowry and 15 years for Mullenax Trucking and 10 years for Smith Transfer, Carlisle, PA. And for 32 years Carl owned and managed Carl’s Deli in Petersburg.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.

Funeral service will be on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home with Eddie Mullenax. Burial will be in Cherry Hill Cemetery.
