Phyllis Jane (Kimble) Sites

Phyllis Jane Sites, age 77 of Petersburg, WV passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 12, 2024.

Born on November 22, 1946 in Smoke Hole, WV, Jane was the daughter of Leslie Bryson “Dutch” Kimble and Edna Jane (Landes) Kimble. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by one sister, Lois VanMeter and eight brothers, Curtis Kimble, Ora “Bill” Kimble, Dewey Kimble, Evers ”Eb” Kimble, Paul E. Kimble, James Kimble, Wayne Kimble and infant Leslie B. Kimble, Jr.

Jane was a loving wife to her husband, Lysle R. “Dick” Sites; a devoted mother to her daughter, Shreda J. Sites Koontz (John) of Dorcas, WV and son, Lysle R. “Richie” Sites II (Michelle) and a doting grandmother to her three grandchildren, Lysle R. Sites III (Jennifer), Colton J. Koontz (Bree) and Nikki M. Chandler (Madi); eight great grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Evans (Gene) of Maysville, WV and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her love knew no bounds, and her selfless nature made her the heart and soul of her family.

Jane attended Petersburg High School. She met the love of her life, Lysle R. “Dick” Sites and together they embarked on a life full of love, challenges, and triumphs. While they lived in Washington, D C, Jane was a reservationist at Hilton Hotel. After they moved back to West Virginia, together with her husband, they owned and operated Lysle R. Sites Construction and Cave Mountain Ranch, where she was the meticulous bookkeeper. Jane’s business acumen and hard work were instrumental in the success of the family businesses. She was a faithful member of Dorcas Baptist Church. We honor her memory by celebrating the remarkable life she led and the profound impact she had on all who knew her.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with  lifelong friend, Pastor Glenn H. Vance Jr. officiating. Jane’s family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:30 – 4 PM. Interment will be in Whispering Winds Cemetery, Dorcas, WV.
