Phyllis J. (Greenawalt) Miller

Phyllis Jeanette (Greenawalt) Miller, age 76, of Petersburg, WV passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Phyllis was born December 3, 1943 in Mozer, WV and was a daughter of the late John Richard Greenawalt and Alma (Judy) Greenawalt.  In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded by two  brothers, Kelley Greenawalt and Robert Greenawalt; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Miller; two brothers-in-law, Franklin D. Ray and Larry Meadows.

Phyllis is survived by two sons, Wilson Lee (Nancy) Miller of Upper Tract, WV and Gregory William Miller of Jacksonville, Florida; three grandchildren, Cody Miller, Levi Miller and Heather Miller Laverty; one great grandson, Lane Youngblood;  four sisters, Doris Dunn of Upper Tract, WV, Gladys  Meadows of Franklin, WV, Darlene (Darrel) Meadows of Upper Tract, WV, Barbara Ray of Upper Tract, WV; one brother, Allen (Betty)  Greenawalt of Petersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Phyllis graduated from Franklin High School in 1961. She was a waitress at the former Thompson Restaurant in Franklin for several years.  She worked for the former Halterman Hardware Store in Petersburg, the Potomac Highland Guild and Windsor Knit Sewing Factory. Phyllis was a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church.

Phyllis’s family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. 

Funeral service will be Friday, March 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Schaeffer Funeral Home with the Rev. David Webb officiating.

Interment will be in Kline Cemetery, Kline, West Virginia
