Rose Marie “Peggy” Sites, age 92 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021, at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Peggy was born on May 1, 1929, in Petersburg, WV and was a daughter of the late Sampson C. Hartman and Edna Marie (Day) Hartman Pope.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her first husband Kenneth L. Shobe in 1964 and her husband Otis P. Sites in 2019; one brother, Ralph Hartman and one nephew, Stoney Hartman.
Peggy is survived by one son, Kenneth R. Shobe and wife Julie; one daughter, Jeanne M. Knotts and husband Donald; three grandchildren, Michael (Crystal) Knotts, JuliAnn (Brian) Branson and Kenneth Ethan Shobe; five great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Knotts, Makinley Branson, Brantley Shobe, Delaney Shobe and Bronson Shobe.
Peggy was a lifelong member of Main Street United Methodist Church and taught the cradle roll class. She was a telephone operator in the 40’s. She also was an avid member of the Petersburg Bridge Club. Peggy was the annual Queen of the Petro-Schola in 1947.
A Graveside service will be Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Joseph Gerstell officiating.
