Paul R. Ours

  Paul Ray Ours, age 83, of Moorefield, WV passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. 

  Paul was born on July 30, 1938 in Rough Run, WV and was a son of the late Charles Monroe Ours and Mernie Elizabeth (Thorne) Ours.  In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by seven brothers, Cletus Ours, Oscar Ours, Leon Ours, William Ours, Galen Ours, Glen Ours, Sr. and twin brother, Bobby Ours; one sister, Janie Ours Sites.

 Paul is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wanda L. (Crites) Ours; two sons, Rickie Lane (Kathy) Ours of Moorefield, WV, Ronnie Paul (Pansy) Ours of Moorefield, WV; a special son, Hank Ours; five grandchildren, Kristy (Jason) Rohrbaugh, Nicole Flores, Malachi Holliday, Mikayla Warner and KyLeigh Simmons; five great grandchildren, Jakob Rohrbaugh, Hailey Green, Chloe Green, Aiden Piraino and Enzo Flores; four brothers, Dale (Virginia) Ours of Petersburg, WV, Ralph (Cornelia) Ours of Petersburg, WV, Delmas Ours of Petersburg, WV, Olin (Carol) Ours of Petersburg, WV; two sisters, Mernie (Paul) Kimble of Petersburg, WV and Arvella Zimmerer of Petersburg, WV; brother-in-law, Curtis “Peanut” Sites of Dorcas, WV and sister-in-law, Arvella Ours of Petersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.

   Paul was a farmer, timber cutter, pipeline worker and poultry grower along with his wife Wanda.  He was an avid coon, deer, elk and bear hunter. He loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Hardy County Farm Bureau and NRA. He also was a member of the Rough Run Church of the Brethren.

  Funeral service will be Monday, February 21, 2022 at 2 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Taylor and Pastor Lynn Rohrbaugh officiating. Family will receive friends from 12 Noon till time of service at 2.

Interment will be in the Ours Family Cemetery, Rough Run, WV.
