Obituary

Paul Lawrence McBride, age 66 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.

Paul was born on September 11, 1956 in Winchester, Virginia and was a son of the late Roger Leroy McBride and Ruth Virginia (Bauer) McBride.  In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by one brother, Mark Wade McBride.

Paul is survived by his wife of 30 years, Donna Jean (Everett) McBride

Two sons: Jeremy V. McBride (Delania) of Woodbridge, VA and Bradley P. McBride (Samantha) of Clear Brook, VA

Four grandchildren

Two stepsons: Stephen R. Swisher of Augusta, WV and Robert D. Swisher (Cathy) of Capon Bridge, WV

One stepdaughter: Tammy K. Shockey of Petersburg, WV

Six step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren

One brother, Philip McBride (Sherry) of Winchester, VA

One sister, Lydia Marshall (William) of Middletown, VA and several nieces and nephews.

Paul was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was a heavy equipment operator.  He loved the woods and rivers.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He fought a long hard battle with his illness, but God called him home to rest.  He will be missed by so many.
