Paul Marvin Kimble

Paul Marvin Kimble, age 85 of Rough Run, WV passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, just two days shy of his 86th birthday.  Born on January 25, 1938 in Upper Tract, WV and was a son of the late Stanley Cecil Kimble and Mary Alice “Molly” (Ratcliff) Kimble.  In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by one son, Stanley Paul Kimble, one grandson, Zac Alston Paul Alt; three brothers, Kermit Mowery, Bruce Mowery and Doug Kimble and two sisters, Doris Alt and twin sister, Pearl Mae Kimble. Paul was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Paul is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mernie (Ours) Kimble; four daughters, Linda (Craig) Helmick of Petersburg, WV, Deborah (Dorsey) Evans of Petersburg, WV, Mary (Ronnie) Alexander of Mozer, WV and Janice “Peep” Alt (Regina) of Petersburg, WV; one son, Michael “Mike” Kimble (Wanda) of Petersburg, WV; ten grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Paul was a United States Navy veteran and was a life member of the American Legion Post 78.  He was a member of the Rough Run Church of the Brethren.  Paul worked for General Motors in Baltimore, MD for four years.  He was the owner of Paul Kimble Trucking for 57 years.  He received a 6 Million Mile Accident Free Award. 

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting trips to Colorado with family and friends and going to Hunting Camp with Ronnie.

Paul’s family will receive friends Thursday from 5 – 8 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. 

Funeral service will be Friday 11 AM at the Rough Run Church of the Brethren with Pastor Ray Church and Pastor Daryl Dunsmore officiating.

Interment will be in the Ours Family Cemetery with Military Honors by Grant County Veterans Honor Guard and United States Navy Honor Guard.
