Ollen Orlando Rotruck age 95 of Petersburg, WV and formerly of Mt. Storm, WV passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
Ollen was born on August 3, 1929 in Martin, WV and was a son of the late Orlando Rotruck and Bessie (Davis) Rotruck.
In addition to his parents, Ollen was preceded in death by his step- mother, Hattie (Likens) Rotruck Streets; two half -brothers, Melvin Gillaspie and Milton “Red” Gillaspie and three sisters, Kathleen Rotruck, Wilda Meredith and Eloise Duckworth. Also preceded Ollen in death was his beloved dog, Sadie.
Ollen is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marsha (Cosner) Rotruck;

Sherry (Jerry) Whetzel of Petersburg, WV
Bonita (Steve) Jackson of Wardensville, WV
Joni (Clyde) Hinkle of Petersburg, WV
Amy Rotruck of Petersburg, WV
One son: Robert (Traci) Cosner of Winchester, VA.
Nine Grandchildren :
Scott (Carol) Foltz, Patrick (Betsy) Foltz, Christopher (Christian) Whetzel, Justin (Elizabeth) Whetzel, Stephanie (Casey) Dunithan, Derek (Val) Jackson, Tabitha (Andrew) Funk, Bowdie Hinkle and Dillon Lantz.
Fifteen Great Grandchildren:
Lily, Josh, Owen, Shad, Ezekiel, Elisha, Josiah, Ananiah, Alexandra, Celina, Damon, Lucas, Connor, Reagan and Hudson.
Half-sister, Margo Allan of Hartmansville, WV. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Ollen was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and received five Bronze Star Medals.
Ollen started his life early by working hard. He helped many friends in the Mt. Storm area. After that he went to Gettysburg, PA and worked on a dairy farm and later took his family to visit.
After coming back from the service, he started a family of girls. He then started driving coal trucks for Allegheny Mining Company where he eventually became Truck Supervisor. He also owned his own truck for many years.
Other “adventures” included managing the Bismarck Service Station with his wife Marsha, farming, making maple syrup, and was a meter reader for local gas wells. He also was custodian for the Oak Dale Church of the Brethren and a full-time “Pappy”.
Ollen “Dad”, “Pappy”, “Pap Ollen”, never met a stranger, loved his family and lived a wonderful life.

Ollen’s family will receive friends on Monday, February 3, 2025 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Deacon Chuck Wood officiating. The Grant County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors following the funeral service.
Interment will be private in the Idleman-Scherr Cemetery in Scherr, WV.
