Norris C. Brake

Norris Conway Brake, age 95,of Petersburg, WV passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at UPMC Western Maryland in Cumberland, MD.

Mr. Brake was born on November 16,1925 in Petersburg, WV and was the son of the late Conway G. Brake and Connie (Kite) Brake. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brake was preceded in death by his wife, M. Aldene (Bergdoll) Brake in 2006; three brothers, Claude Brake, Gene Brake and Warren Brake; one sister, Rosalee Brake Glisan. 

Mr. Brake is survived by three sons, Lenwood Brake of Petersburg, WV, Angus Brake and girlfriend Sally Pownell of Petersburg, WV and Hilton Brake and wife, Marcia of Ponte Vedra, FL.; one grandson, Briton Brake, two granddaughters, Joy Hinkle and Tracy Hammond; five great granddaughters, Lillian Hinkle, Regan Hammond, Bree Hinkle, Elizabeth Brake and Addison Brake; two great grandsons, Harrison Hammond and Levi Brake; one sister, Joan (Jim) Wilson of Frederick, MD and one brother, George Brake of Frederick, MD.  

Mr. Brake was an United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was caregiver for his wife Aldene during her illness of six years.  He was a lifelong farmer.  He was a faithful member of North Mill Creek Baptist Church and held numerous positions with the church and cemetery. 

A Military Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 11 AM in the North Mill Creek Cemetery, Petersburg, WV with Pastor Greg Rotruck Officiating and Military Honors by the Grant County Veterans Honor Guard and West Virginia Army Honor Guard.

Please be prepared to wear face coverings at all times.
