Norman Crites Obituary
Norman Glenn "Ike" Crites, age 64, of Rig, WV passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Grant Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 13, 1951 in Hardy County, WV and was the son of the late Glenn Conway Crites and Rebecca Madeline (Baldwin) Crites.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Connie Marie Crites and two nieces.
Norman worked for Rockingham Poultry in Moorefield for over 30 years until he was disabled. He was a member of Rig Assembly of God Church and the Critestown Hunting Club. He loved hunting, sports, farming and being around family and friends. He loved his adopted family and friends, Harvey and Bonnie Crites family, Gerald Crites, Richard Crites, Bruce Crites and Craig Sherman. He was a collector of Thomas Kinkade items and NFL patches. He was a true fan of the Moorefield Yellow Jackets and loved them very much especially football team from 1996-2003. He enjoyed the trips to Wheeling to watch the championship games.
Norman is survived by five sisters, Dottie E. Mongold and husband Andrew of Rig, WV, Paula "Polly" J. Wolfe of Rig, WV, Mary S. "Sudie"Simmons and husband Richard of Rig, WV, Cindy M. Shoemaker of Petesburg, WV and Lisa L. Crites and husband Roscoe of Moorefield, WV; eight brothers, Donnie R. Crites and Jeff G. Crites with whom he resided in Rig, WV, Gerald D. "Jerry" Crites and wife Barbara of Moorefield, WV, Stevie E. Crites and wife Tena of Fisher, WV, Boyd L. Crites and wife Neva of Petersburg, WV, Rodney M. Crites and wife Shawna of Moorefield, WV, Randall W. Crites and wife Lana of Rig, WV and Rex A. Crites and wife Elneta of Rig, WV; 5 nephews and 11 nieces; 9 great nephews and 10 great nieces; and 1 great-great nephew and 2 great-great nieces.
Family will receive friends Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service will be Monday, January 18, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Bradley Taylor and Wade Armentrout officiating. Burial will be in the Critestown Cemetery in Rig, WV.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Crites family, c/o Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg,WV.
