Norma E. (Lauritsen) Pennel

Norma Elaine Lauritsen Pennel, age 97 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center. 

 Mrs. Pennel was born on November 29, 1924 in Audubon, Iowa and was a daughter of late Benjamin Lauritsen and Lena Jorgensen Lauritsen.

 In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by the love of her life, Daniel "Zag" Pennel in 2007 and six brothers, Virgil, Edward, Raymond, Dale, Emmert and Earl Lauritsen. She was the last member of her immediate family.

  Norma is survived by one daughter, Lori Baker and husband Dwight of Petersburg; one son, Daniel L. Pennel, Jr. of Overland Park, Florida; two granddaughters, Jessica Simmons and husband Patrick of Petersburg and Kristina Angeline and husband Adam of Fairmont, WV; two great grandsons, Hudson Angeline of Fairmont, WV and Mason Simmons of Petersburg.  

  Norma was a member of the Petersburg First Baptist Church.

 Graveside service will be Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 2 PM in Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg with Pastor Shannon Earle and Pastor Rick Bergdoll.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be scheduled at a later date.
