Millard "Mick" Rexroad

Millard “Mick” Rexroad, age 66 of Maysville, WV passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.

Mick was born on July 30, 1958 in Petersburg, WV and was a son of the late Victor John Rexroad and Bernice Ione (Gray) Rexroad.  In addition to his parents, Mick was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Rexroad Johnson and two brothers, Reginald Rexroad and David Rexroad. 

 Mick attended Petersburg High School and was a welder for International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 45, Richmond, VA.

 Mick enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son. He loved being outdoors and was an exceptional gardener – reaping bountiful harvest over the years. He enjoyed rock & roll, traveling out west, and sentimental things. But mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Love wasn’t always expressed in words, but through his actions. Mick was proud of the legacy he left behind with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Mick was known for his generosity, kind heart, ability to see the good in others, and showing unconditional love.  He was resilient, taught the importance of hard work, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.

Mick is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bobbie “Boots” Rexroad, son, Garrett (Tasha) Rexroad of Scherr, WV and daughter, Rebecca (J. J.)Cosner of Petersburg, WV; seven grandchildren, Kayleigh Rexroad, Madison Rexroad, Brienna Rexroad, Nora Rexroad, Dakota “Dad-Dad’s Little Buddy” Cosner, Roman Cosner and Harper Cosner; three brothers Donald Rexroad, Arnold Rexroad, and Allan Rexroad and one sister, Sally Rexroad Weeks. Also surviving numerous nieces and nephews. 

In the arms of eternity, he is finally free.

 Mick’s family will receive friends Friday, May 9, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00  PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.  A funeral service will begin at 7 PM with Matt Perrine.
