Mildred Cook Obituary

 

Mildred Maxine Cook, age 95, of Petersburg, WV passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg.

She was born April 17, 1923 in Westernport, MD and was the daughter of the late Adam Harrison Kimble and Louvene Margaret (Stuby) Kimble.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her first husband, Sherman Loy Riggleman in 1965 and by her second husband, Ralph Richard Cook in 2005; one brother, Ronald H. Kimble.

Mildred enjoyed cooking, baking and offered child care services for years.  She was a member of Christ Central Community Church in Upper Tract, WV. 

Mildred is survived by two daughters, Nancy Riggleman of Rhoadesville, VA and Teresa  Kimble--Moomau and husband Dennis of Waynesboro, VA; four grandchildren, Richard Auville, Jeremy Auville, Colby Bosserman and Courtney Bosserman; special granddaughter, Felicia “P.J.” Miller; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Vera Ours of Petersburg, WV; one brother, Kenneth Kimble of Hagerstown, MD and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.  Funeral service will begin at 11 AM Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Sam Harper officiating.  Burial will follow in the Kline Cemetery. 

The family suggests that memorials may be made to Christ Central Community Church or Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center, 127 Early Avenue, Petersburg, WV  26847.
