Michael O. Phares

Michael Otis Phares, age 77, of Maysville, WV died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at his residence.
He was born May 7, 1939 in Maysville, WV and was the son of the late Macie (Phares) Kile. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his step father, Thomas Kile and three brothers, Herbert Phares, Leon Phares and twin brother, Alfred Phares.

Mike was a truck driver for Lark Rohrbaugh and retired from Fairfax Sand and Stone. He was a member of the former Maysville Gospel Tabernacle and currently attended the Maysville Bible Brethren Church.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting with friends including Guy Coniglio, Jr., Richard R.E. Evans and the late Roger Keplinger.

Mike is survived by his wife of 53 years, Delvena (Rohrbaugh) Phares; two daughters, Jeannette and husband, Clem Roby of Petersburg, WV and Sherry and husband, Michael Orndorff of Harrisonburg, VA; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Mark Berg, Autumn Noel Orndorff and Burgundy Elizabeth Roby; two brothers, Don Phares and wife Frances of Petersburg, WV and Roger Kile and wife Deborah of Maysville, WV; and his hunting buddy, Sparky and his cabin companion, Muffins.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Durbin officiating. Interment will be in the Maysville Cemetery.
