Michael G. McGuinness

Michael Grant “Specs” McGuinness, age 61 of Maysville, WV on Jordan Run Road, went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

 Mike was born on September 3, 1960 in Petersburg, WV and was a son of the late James Grant McGuinness (2008) and Bonnie J. (Rohrbaugh) McGuinness (2003).  In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick James McGuinness in 2004.

Mike is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Christa Jo and husband Dr. Scott Roberts of Maysville and their two daughters Callie and Lillie Roberts who he absolutely adored.  In their eyes, there was no better uncle in the world.  In addition, 3 nieces and 1 nephew.  He is also survived by his long -time companion Ginger White.

Mike was a graduate of Petersburg High School.  He was the owner and operator of McGuinness’s Self Service for more than 35 years. He was a poultry farmer for nearly 13 years and operated McGuinness General Store for several years. He was loved and respected by all he met.  He was kind, caring, compassionate and slow to anger.  He had a quirky sense of humor and always wore a smile on his face.  He was always there to help in times of need and never expected anything in return.  He will be greatly missed by family and the community.   

Thankfully Mike recently gave his heart to Jesus and we have peace knowing he is in a better place Heaven.

 Family will receive friends Saturday from 5 - 8 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home.

  Funeral service will be  2 PM Sunday, July 24, 2022 in the chapel of the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Rohrbaugh officiating.  

  Interment will be in the Goldizen Cemetery Jordan Run, West Virginia.

  Those who wish to remember Mike in a special way, may make memorials  to the Charity of the donor's choice.
