Mary P. (Moats) Nazelrodt

Mary Moats Nazelrodt, age 89 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.

Mary was born on November 3, 1936 in Sugar Grove, WV and was a daughter of the late William Roy Moats and Laura Anne Bodkin Moats Lefever. Mary was married to Willard McKinley Nazelrodt who preceded her in death in December 2013. She also was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, three brothers, George, Samuel and Stuart and four sisters, Bertha, Effie, Blanche and Catherine. Mary was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mary retired from Advantage Foods, Inc. in Petersburg, WV. She was a member of the Moorefield Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Mary is survived by three sons, Richard W. Nazelrodt and wife Darlene of Bridgeport, WV, Charles W. Nazelrodt of Moorefield, WV and Mark T. Nazelrodt and wife Teresa of Petersburg, WV; one daughter, Ruth Ann Falkenstein and husband Jon of Fairmont, WV. She was the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Eddie Reyes officiating.  Interment will be in the North Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
