Mary P. (Martin) Henderson

 Mary Patricia (Martin) Henderson, age 76 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.

Mary was born on July 6, 1949 in Pittsburgh, PA and was a daughter of the late Hugh James Martin, Sr. and Rosemary Delores (Clinton) Martin. 

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, James Martin and John Martin.

Mary is survived by her husband Richard ‘Dick” D. Henderson, one brother, Hugh J. Martin, Jr. of San Marcos, CA and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was a School Teacher for Petersburg Elementary School and retired after 50 years. She was honored as being selected Teacher of the Year in 2002. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society. Mary was a member of Grant County Association of Retired School Employees. Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Petersburg. 

 Mary’s family will receive friends on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 12 Noon till 1 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.

Funeral service will begin at 1 PM with Father Arul Anthony. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Arthur, WV.
