Mary E. Helmick

 Mary Etta Helmick, age 75 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at her home. Mary was born on May 18, 1949 in Petersburg, WV and was a daughter of the late Lester George and Laura Etta (Kile) George.

 In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Stanley K. Helmick, Sr. in March 2013; son, Stanley Keith Helmick, Jr.; five brothers, Casper, Stanley, Andy, Gladen and Foster George; five sisters, Minnie Borror, Nora Belle VanMeter, Ethel Davis, Catherine Kesner and Rebecca Kile.

  Mary is survived by her daughter, Martie Helmick of Petersburg, WV; two sons, Bradley Helmick and wife Tina of Yorktown, VA and Gregory Helmick and wife Barbara of Nokesville, VA; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Kile of Franklin, WV and Joy Marie Lantz of Upper Tract, WV; two brothers, Charlie George and wife Tammy of Upper Tract, WV and Raymond George of Upper Tract, WV. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

 Mary was a 1967 graduate from Franklin High School. She worked at Hanover Shoes for several years and retired in 2019 from the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, WV. Mary was a member of Rough Run Church of the Brethren.

 Mary’s family will receive family and friends on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 6 – 8 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.

Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 11 AM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Rohrbaugh officiating.

Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg, WV.
