Marvin E. Bible

Marvin Eugene Bible, age 94 of Scherr, WV passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Keyser Health Care Center in Keyser, WV.

Marvin was born on July 4, 1928 in Luke, Maryland and was the son of the late Arlie Lester Bible and Mary Susan (Cullers) Bible. In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his step mother, Zernie (VanMeter) Bible;  first wife, Ressie (Kisamore) Bible in 1990 and Eloise (Michael) Haslacker Bible in 2019; one sister, Norma (Bible) Feaster; five brothers, Warren Cullers, Merlin Bible, Ronnie Bible and infants Arlie Bible, Jr. and Norman Elwood Bible.

Marvin is survived by one son, Lester Eugene Bible and wife Becky of Scherr, WV, one daughter, Susan Barger and husband Richard of Scherr, WV; three granddaughters, Darlene Bible Yokum (Craig), Deanna Bible Evans (Steve) and Amanda Barger (Hunter Straw);  five great grandchildren, Deprise Evans Hawk (Logan), Desiree Evans, Garrett Willis, Nathan Willis and Angela Willis; one sister, Hilda F. Lambert and husband Bruce of Franklin, WV; two brothers, Bobby Bible and wife Malvena of Maysville, WV and Roger L. Bible and wife Anna Mae of Moorefield, WV; several nieces and nephews.

Marvin was owner of Bible Logging in Scherr, WV.  He was a lifelong farmer and  timberman for over 60 years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. He was a member of  Harmony Baptist Church and was a choir member. 

The family wants to thank the special care givers, Barb and Lori for helping to make Marvin's last years more comfortable.   

Family will receive friends Monday, April 10th from 5-8 pm at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. 

Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 11th at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Crislip officiating.

Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to charity of donor’s choice.
