Mark S. Mullenax

Mark Steven Mullenax, age 62 of Petersburg, WV passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, July 7, 2025. 

Mark was born on February 25, 1963 in Petersburg, WV and was a son of Carl and Thelma (Kimble) Mullenax of Petersburg, WV.

In addition to his parents, Mark is survived by his wife Rhonda (Riggleman) Mullenax; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Mullenax.

One sister, Melanie Mullenax Diller of Harrisburg, PA and two brothers, Kelly Mullenax and wife Jeanne of Petersburg, WV and Kenneth Mullenax of Petersburg, WV.

Aunt Jean Judy of Franklin, WV and Uncle Roy Mullenax of Petersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews and one great niece. 

Mark attended Petersburg High School and was employed with Mullenax Transport in Petersburg.  Later he was a welder and mechanic for various companies, Waco, Scope, Atlantic Power Service, and Boilermakers. More recently Mark was owner and operator of Mark’s Auto Sales and Garage in Petersburg, WV. He was a member of Landes Ruritan Club.

Mark was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roland C. Mullenax and Bessie (Harman) Mullenax and maternal grandparents, John E. Kimble and Zadie (Kisamore) Kimble.  Also one brother, Michael C. Mullenax on March 29, 2025.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.

Funeral service will be on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Eddie Mullenax officiating.  Interment will be in Cherry Hill Cemetery, Upper Tract, WV.

Mark’s family suggests memorials may be made to his daughter, Sarah E. Mullenax, 6542 Franklin Pike, Petersburg, WV 26847 to help defray college expenses earning her Master of Science in Nursing.
