Marion Jay Terry Schroeder passed away on May 16, 2024.
Jay was born on June 18,1956 in Maryland. He spent most of his life on the family farm in Taneytown, Maryland. He was a metal worker and gunsmith by trade. His passion was American History and Civil War re-enacting. He was the head of Baltimore Battery Artillery, where he taught many people safe artillery firing. Jay was a member of Valley Division, McClanahan’s Battery. Jay was a lifetime member of National Sons of Confederate Veterans and local camp 582, McNeill’s Rangers.
Jay spent the last eleven years in West Virginia, near friends in Lahmansville and in several hospitals and Care/Rehabilitation homes. He passed away at Cortland Acres in Thomas, West Virginia, amid many new friends and a competent and caring staff. Jay was a friend to everyone, people and creatures alike. He loved his dogs, especially Jack and Brownie.
Jay’s final wish was cremation with services conducted by McNeill’s Rangers SCV Camp 582 at their meeting establishment at a later date.
