M. Goldizen Obituary

 

Martin Junior “June” Goldizen, age 93, of Maysville, WV passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV.

Mr. Goldizen was born July 19, 1926 in Maysville, WV and was a son of the late Martin Enoch Goldizen and Estie Blanche (Rohrbaugh) Goldizen. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Goldizen was preceded in death by one son, Archie Martin Goldizen; infant grandson, Brandon Goldizen; one brother; two half- brothers, and three half- sisters; Mr. Goldizen was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

“June” is survived by his wife of nearly 75 years, Cleta S. (Heavener) Goldizen; two sons, Eddie G. (Joann)  Goldizen of Maysville, WV and Daniel “Danny” (Sandy) Goldizen of Maysville, WV and one daughter, Carolyn Goldizen of Petersburg, WV; fifteen Grandchildren; thirty-nine great grandchildren; fifteen great-great grandchildren.

“June” was a lifelong farmer and was a bus driver for Grant County Board of Education for 30 plus years.   He was a member of Jordan Run Baptist Church where he served as trustee for over seventy years.  He also was a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent for several years.

Due to the present health concerns, there will be no public visitation.  All services and interment will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center,  127 Early Avenue, Petersburg, WV 26847 or Jordan Run Union Church, c/o Mrs. Thomasine Berg, 225 Putt Putt Lane, Maysville, WV  26833.
