Lucy G. (Dolly) Long

Lucy Gail (Dolly) Long, age 82 of Seneca Rocks, WV passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Hampshire Center in Romney, WV. Lucy was born on March 22, 1941 in Seneca Rocks, WV and was a daughter of the late Fred Carles Dolly and Bertha Ellen (Heavener) Dolly.

In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Raymond Long on October 26, 2011; two infant grandsons, Joshua Byron Tekmen and Jesse Ray Tekmen and one sister, Betty (Dolly) Miller.

Lucy attended Circleville High School. She moved to Fort Ashby, WV with her husband and later to Arlington, VA and lived there for 25 years. In the early 90’s they retired back to West Virginia. Lucy was a homemaker and was known to help others in need.  She enjoyed family and friends get together and socializing. Lucy loved her animals.   

Lucy is survived by her daughter, Anita F. Tekmen of Cabins, WV; one grandson, Dakota Lee Moore; one sister, Dottie (Dolly) Fidler (Mike) of Wardensville, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 11 AM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Hipp officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. 

Interment will be in the Mallow Cemetery on Timber Ridge Road, Riverton, WV.
