Linda K. (Reed) Ours

Linda Kay (Reed) Ours, age 68 of Cabins, WV passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at CAMC Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia. 

Linda was born on June 1, 1956 in Lahmansville, WV and was a daughter of the late Edgar Parker Reed and Ruth Mae (Heavener) Reed. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine (Reed) Rohrbaugh and an infant sister, Eva June Reed, one brother, Paul Jones Reed and half -brother, Robert Reed.

Linda is survived by her husband of 50 years, Mickey R. Ours; two sons, Lonnie Ray Ours of Huntington, WV and Jason P. (Sunshine) Ours of Grafton WV; one daughter, Lindsay (Bill) Ours of Buchannan, WV; five grandchildren, Lukas Angland, LeKaylynne Haggerty, Caleb Haggerty, Gracelyn Haggerty and Asher Haggerty; three sisters, Mary Powell of Frederick, MD, Margie (Wendell) Saville of Rio, WV and June Huffman of Seneca Rocks, WV; five sisters-in-law, Darlene (Jimmy) Casto, Naomi (Dick) Pennington, Erma Koontz, Sharon (Cecil) Kimble and Phyllis Dolly; three brothers-in-law, Alonzo (Barbara) Ours, Neil  (Marlene) Ours and Danny Ours  and numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda attended Petersburg High School. She was a faithful member of the Cornerstone Family Fellowship in Petersburg, WV. She was formerly a member of Cabins Assembly of God Church where she was active in the children’s ministry. She had worked at Grant County Commission on Aging for several years. She loved cooking meals for large families and community gatherings. She enjoyed crafting and gardening. Linda was known as a giver and caretaker; she enjoyed babysitting and taking care of children. She never met a stranger.

Linda’s family will receive family and friends Tuesday (October 1, 2024) from 6 – 8 PM at the Cornerstone Family Fellowship, 1516 Lunice Creek, Petersburg, WV 26847.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, (October 2, 2024) at 11 AM with Pastor P. J. Landis and Phyllis M. Dolly officiating. Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery.
