Leonard D. Carr

Leonard Daniel Carr, age 66 of Maysville, WV passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at his home.  He was born September 19, 1952 in Maysville, WV and was a son of the late Vernon Cecil Carr, Sr. and Elsie Mable (Berg)  Carr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Carr and one sister, Reva Sypolt.

Leonard is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jeanie (Likin) Carr; two daughters, Jerica Carr Bobo and husband Chad of Maysville, WV; Alisha Carr Moreland and husband Richie of Maysville, WV; four grandsons, Riley Bobo, Colson Bobo, Eric Moreland and Alex Moreland; two brothers, Harvey Carr and wife Bernice of Maysville, WV; Vernon C. Carr, Jr. and wife Leta of Lahmansville, WV; one sister, Hilda and husband Rev. Kenneth Phares of Cabins, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Leonard was a logger and carpenter.  He helped build homes and chicken houses.  He also worked at VEPCO in the maintenance department.  He was a member of Falls Assembly of God Church.  He was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman. 

Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. 

Funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Falls Assembly of God Church with Pastor Vivan Watts officiating.   Interment will follow in the Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, WV.
