LaVera Faye (Kimble) Ours, age 94, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg.
She was born April 11, 1927 in Hamilton, Ohio and was a daughter of the late Adam Harrison Kimble and Margaret Louvene (Stuby) Kimble. In addition to her parents, LaVera was preceded in death by her husband, George Oather Ours in January 29, 1997; one sister, Mildred Cook and one brother, Ronald Kimble.
LaVera is survived by one daughter, Margaret ( Tracy) Feaster of Petersburg, WV; two sons, Gerald (Doris) Ours of Leesburg, VA; Randy (Carol) Ours of Petersburg, WV; four grandchildren, Allen (Lori) Feaster, Josh (Beth) Ours, Michelle (Jon) Park, and Adam (Laura) Ours; nine great grandchildren, Sarrah (Jonathan) Menzer, Jacob Feaster, Jeremiah (Makalyn) Feaster, Nathan Park, Kassidy Park, Isabelle Ours, Ian Ours, Max Ours, Cecelia Ours; one brother, Kenneth Kimble of Maugensville, MD; several nieces and nephews.
LaVera was employed by the former Windsor Knit Sewing Factory in Petersburg for several years and retired from Grant Memorial Hospital in the laundry department. She was a member of Bethel Church in Landes, WV where she had served as deaconess and youth leader. She also was a member of Bethel Church women’s fellowship.
Family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-8 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service will be 1:00 Sunday, November 7, 2021 in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Rotruck officiating. Burial will be in the Ours Family Cemetery, Petersburg, WV.
