Kitty L. (Hull) Barr

KITTY LOU (HULL) BARR, age 82, of Petersburg, WV passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.

Mrs. Barr was born April 12, 1937 in Lahmansville, WV and was the daughter of the late Albert H. Hull and Odessa (Frye) Hull.  In addition to her parents, Kitty Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Roland P. Barr on October 27, 2012 and two sisters, Delona Crites and Anna Lee Reid. 

She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia V. Strosnider and husband Clifton of Petersburg, WV; two sons, Perry A. Barr and wife Tina of Moorefield, WV; Jay M. Barr of Annapolis, MD; three grandchildren, Dr. Heather Strosnider of Atlanta, GA, Kara J. Riggleman and husband Bill of Petersburg, WV and Adam R. Strosnider and wife Sarah of Petersburg, WV  and three great grandchildren, Lucas W. Riggleman, Matthew L. Riggleman and Stella E. Strosnider.

Kitty Lou was a graduate of Petersburg High School Class of 1955.  She retired as an  administrative assistant at South Branch Vocation Center in Petersburg.  She served on the Board at Lahmansville Cemetery for several years. She was a member of Grove Street United Methodist Church in Petersburg.

There will be a private graveside service in Lahmansville Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Grove Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Hakes officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Grove Street United Methodist Church, 11 North Grove Street, Petersburg, WV or Petersburg High School Scholarship Fund, c/o Terry Mongold, 89 Riverview Drive, Petersburg, WV or Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center, 27 Early Avenue, Petersburg, WV.
