Kenneth W. Snyder

Kenneth William Snyder, age 78 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV.

Ken was born on January 27, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland and was a son of the late Kenneth Eugene Snyder and Alice Dorothy (Rosier) Snyder.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Snyder and Richard Snyder.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Janice (Thomas) Snyder; two sons, James Snyder (Theresa) of Manchester, MD and Michael Snyder (Colleen) of Manchester, MD; four

step- children. He was a proud “Pop” of eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister, Saundra Kincaid (Donald) of Manchester, MD; one brother, Robert Snyder of Hereford, MD and several nieces and nephews.

Ken was a 1965 graduate of Hereford High School in Hereford, MD  and was employed by the Baltimore County Police Department and retired in 1986.  More recently he was a driver for Potomac Valley Transit in Petersburg, WV.

Ken was a Confederate Colonel for historical re-enactment for 21 years. He was a very caring and loving person. His passion was his family and friends. 

Ken’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.

In honoring Ken’s wishes, his body will be cremated.
