Judy Lane (Huffman) Lough, age 77 of Petersburg, WV passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 11, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
Judy was born on February 13, 1947 in Petersburg, WV and was a daughter of the late Lane Huffman and Goldie (Vance) Huffman.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald P. Lough whom she married on June 25, 1966. Also preceded by two brothers, Dick Huffman and Don Huffman.
Judy is survived by one son, Matthew (Judy) Lough of Petersburg, WV; a granddaughter Whitney (Blake) Cook of Maysville, WV, and a grandson, Aaron (Allison) Kessel of Petersburg, WV; a great granddaughter, Lily Mae Kessel and a special little girl, Cheyanne Ketterman; one brother, Gerald W. “Jerry” (Myra) Huffman of Petersburg, WV; three sisters, Mary Ann Bennett of Petersburg, WV, Nancy L. (Kenneth) Webster of Moorefield, WV, Peggy L. Huffman of Falling Waters, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy was a 1965 graduate of Petersburg High School and Tri State Beauty Academy Class of 1967. She worked as a teacher’s aide for Grant County Schools for over 35 years and touched the lives of many children. She was also very involved in the operations of her family farm. Judy was a lifelong active member of Bethel Church where she played the piano for over 60 years and served on various committees. She loved her church family and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her many passions were playing the piano, gardening and cooking. She loved to bake and was known for her pies. She often carried food to anyone in need. Judy loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren.
Judy’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 5 – 8 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Henson and Pastor Greg Rotruck officiating. Interment will follow in the Kline Cemetery.
