Juanita (Fisher) Moreland

Katherine Juanita (Fisher) Moreland, age 95 of Newport News, VA and formerly of Mt. Storm, WV went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 13, 2019. 

Born on May 3, 1924 in Mt. Storm, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles Madison Fisher and Delia Ellen (Hanlin) Fisher.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, infant Dorothy Fisher, Mabel Virginia Schillingburg Arnold, Bertie Mae Lynch and Odessa Kisner; two brothers, Dodd Fisher and Ernest Fisher.

Mrs. Moreland is survived by her husband of 76 years, Eugene W. Moreland; one son, Gale Eugene Moreland and wife Shirley Patreice of Hampton, VA; two daughters, Sandra Lee Barnett and husband Rev. Johnny O. Barnett and Ann Kathryn Bullock and husband Leamon E. Bullock of Hampton, VA; one brother, Charles Ardell Fisher and wife Lorelle of Alexandria, VA; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Moreland was a member of Mt. Storm United Methodist Church since 2007. Her hobbies were growing flowers, reading and traveling.  She won second place for reading the most books at the Mt. Storm Library in 1999.  She traveled to all 50 states, Canada, Bermuda and Nova Scotia.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Storm United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rebecca L. Bennett and  Rev. Raymond Sterling officiating.   Visitation will be from 12 Noon till time of service.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Storm Cemetery.
