Joy Kisamore

Joy Kisamore, age 87, formerly of Cabins, WV passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV.

Joy was born on April 2, 1937 in Onego, WV and was a daughter of the late Fred Kisamore and Vallie Bennett Kisamore. In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by one sister Ruth Kisamore Champ and an infant brother Clyde Martin Kisamore.

 Joy is survived by one brother Jimmie Kisamore of Riverton, WV and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

 Joy attended school at Brushy Run and Spruce Mountain. Joy spent her life cleaning houses for people in the community and in later years taking care of her mother. Joy was a wonderful caregiver. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning, baking and reading. Joy was a member of North Fork Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School.   

Joy’s family will receive friends on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 10 – 11 AM in the Schaeffer Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM with Pastor David Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Bennett Family Cemetery on Spruce Mountain.
