Joy Ann (Heavener) Keplinger, age 83 of Petersburg WV passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.
Joy was born on September 29, 1938 in Seneca Rocks, WV and was a daughter of the late
Arnold Heavener and Sylvia Sarah (Turner) Heavener.
In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by two daughters, Infant Pamela Sue Smith and Carol Faye Keplinger; one brother, Byron W. Heavener; four sisters, Retta Dolly, Bessie Dolly, Ruth Reed and Iva Kile. Joy was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Joy is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bobbie E. Keplinger; three daughters, Dianne (Randy) Thorne of Petersburg, WV, Missy (Tom) Keplinger of Petersburg, WV, Sherry (Kirk) Paugh of Petersburg, WV; two sons, Michael (Cindy) Smith of Petersburg, WV and Timothy (Stephanie) Keplinger of Romney, WV; 10 grandchildren, Erica Thorne, Derek Thorne, Brian Keplinger, Ashlea Rexrode, Hannah Smith, Ethan Crites, Gabby Keplinger, Johnny Keplinger, Tommy Keplinger and Autumyn Keplinger; 11 Great Grandchildren; Son-in-law, Sid Keplinger and several nieces and nephews.
Joy was a graduate of Petersburg High School in 1957. Joy was employed by Joan Curtis Manufacturing in Petersburg for several years. She attended Maysville Bible Brethren Church in Maysville, WV. Joy enjoyed spending time with her family and planting her flowers and caring for her two furry friends, Bootsie and Gretta.
Family will receive friends Thursday from 4 – 7 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg and Funeral service will begin at 7 PM in the chapel of the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Durbin, Pastor Calvin Redman and grandson, Brian Keplinger.
Graveside service will be 11 AM Friday, August 26, 2022 at the Lahmansville Cemetery.
