Joseph E. Arnold

 Joseph Earl “Joe” Arnold, age 67 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.

  Joe was born on July 17, 1956 in Dunbar, West Virginia and was the son of the late Arlyn S. Arnold and Mary Helen (Click) Arnold.

 Joe is survived by his two sisters, Becky Buchanan and husband Bill of Gig Harbor, WA and Margaret Arnold of Harrisonburg, VA; one niece, one nephew, two great nieces, one great nephew and several cousins; best friends, Glenn D. Vance Jr. and Douglas Hedrick and a host of friends in the Petersburg area.

Joe was a 1974 graduate of Petersburg High School and earned his bachelor’s degree at Fairmont State College in Fairmont, WV.  He dedicated many years of service to the Mt. Storm Power Station in Mt. Storm, WV. 

  Joe’s adventurous soul led him to explore the great outdoors where he found joy in hunting, fishing, going to the beach and riding his motorcycle with friends who shared in his zest for life. Joe was baptized at the Petersburg Memorial Church of the Brethren. Joe’s passing leaves a void that will be felt deeply, but his legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. 

 Visitation will be Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 11 AM till 1 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. 

 Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Shawn Champ officiating. Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville, WV.

Memorials may be made to the Charity of the donor’s choice.
