John Henry Fritzman, Jr. age 91 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born June 25, 1929 in Smithfield, PA and was the son of the late John Henry Fritzman, Sr. and Carrie Elizabeth (Miller) Fritzman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Helen M. (Wimer) Fritzman on December 29, 2020; an infant son, Mark Henry Fritzman and an infant daughter, Bonnie Joe Fritzman; two sisters, Mary Burke and Anna Lee Bixler.
Mr. Fritzman served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and retired in 1968 after 20 years of service. He was a member of Potomac Highlands VFW Post 6454. He also retired from Sears & Roebuck Company after 20 years. He attended Living Hope Baptist Church in Petersburg, WV
Mr. Fritzman is survived by two sons: John Scott (Sherry) Fritzman of Virginia Beach, VA and James Edward (Shelley) Fritzman of Norfolk, VA
Two daughters: Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Fritzman Boggs and husband Chuck of Petersburg, WV and Linda Sue Fritzman Jones of Petersburg, WV
Seven Grandchildren and Eighteen Great Grandchildren
One sister: Louise Hotsenpillar of Masontown, PA
One brother: Robert Fritzman of Richmond, V
Family will receive friends on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service for John Henry Fritzman, Jr. and Celebration of Service for his wife, Helen Fritzman will be Saturday 11:00 AM in the chapel at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hakes officiating. Interment will be in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg, WV with Military Honors by Potomac Highlands VFW Post 6454 and United States Navy Honor Guard.
